Differences in the End-Size of Panaque Plecos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He was in a 240 quarantine tank before being introduced to the 650. He ate heads of cabbage, whole russett potatoes, most whole fruits, quartered pumpkins, and chewed up about 6 pounds of driftwood a week. He also vacuumed up wafers, sticks, and grazed on algae-coated rocks I culture throughout the year in kiddie pools outside.

Did you buy him that size or grow him from smaller?

Matt

Yeah please give us some information, maybe someone bought one of those really bic panaque and they still got bigger during the years in the aquarium.

I guess this would be quite some proof, that it should be possible to grow huge panaque all by yourself.

Since it is possible with A. Adonis or other huge plecos like Hypancistus Luteus or the good old gibbceps, i don't know why it should ne impossible with the panaque.

How long did you had him? (and where is this monster pleco now?)

Maybe someone else with a huge wild caught panaque know more about the ongoing growing process in the aquarium?

And how about the adonis? Which is the biggest captivity grown adonis you know? I definetly know some which have reached 30" in captivity, but i think they can grow way bigger...
