Differences?

I recently purchased a texas cichlid and then i bought a carpintas cichlid. Are these guys the same fish or different?

The true Texan is cyanoguttatus, the carpintus is from a different location in Mexico.

Is there any difference in coloration or size

big difference in pearl size/distribution. Carpintis is better colored. Cyano pretty plain.

that is a matter of opinion. I loved my big male Cyanoguttatus, he was a stunner!

yes they both have great look as they get bigger,just a matter of preference,i had a big male cyano,great fish
