differenciating polypterus Sp. dabola from other endlicheris

Being our connection to the silk road you would best answer this..... how come all of these exotic's end up in asia and never in the u.s ? Difference in exporters and importers?
Money talks bro! Fish keeping is much more popular in Asia. I believe It started over there anyway. As Kurt has said, there's a larger market over there. Even Toyin imports stuff and ships it out to Asia! There are some big fish importers in Asia too. In China, there's a guy that imports monster bichirs (27" platinum congicus, 33"-34" congi, 36" ansorgii, etc) The Volta endli above is from him. A lot of stuff in Asia are not posted online. Hidden gems everywhere!

My Speculation is the vas majority of these fine specimens shown are Hybrid Speciation. Lineage descended from an ancestor; ancestry or pedigree. This is why every single piece in question looks so different, but yet so familiar. :)

The bikien is most likely just a Nigerian version of "sp. dabola. There are cb bikiens but I don't have pictures to share.
The 2nd fish doesn't resemble your typical Nigerian lap though. Displays sp. dabola/Guinean lap features. It's odd because it was caught in Nigeria.

Yeah the 2nd definitely looks like it has guinean lap features. I swear the 1st looks like a faranah/guinean lap. It looks allot like sp.candy bar
