Environment will play a big part. Bass in lakes and ponds are much chunkier while those caught in rivers are leaner.

Riverine vs. lake makes a difference in body shape as each sp. adapts to the environment. Riverine are more elongated and slender compared to lake.

Yes.. river vs lake is also an important variable... movement and depth of water also affect fish development.
