needle nose and hujeta

i just put the hujeta in and they seem to love eachother swimming together and stuff not 100% but it seems the needlenose is trying to mate with the hujeta

is this what is happening? any idea how to tell there sex? the needlenose has a red line on his head if that tells you anything

i dont think this is possible. looks like a form of aggression to me.

i dont think they are trying to mate i also have a needle nose and some times he will do that same thing to my silver arowana until the arow scares him away.

????? I think I missed what your Video shows. I see two fish just swimming on Neutral? I don't even see them touching each other. I also don't think it is possible for those two fish to try to have little Needle Hujeta Nose Babies...
Good Luck on the New Breed:popcorn:

Damn, throw some more needlenose in there! They are livebearers...

The needlenose are egg layers your confusing them with some of the Livebearing Halfbeaks.

Indeed I am lol. That's a belonid...sigh. I was thinking Belonesox....

Belonesox are Poecilids closely related to Gambusia...Guess I should have put that one in there also and not just mention Livebearing Hemiramphids....All cool fish BTW and worth attention... they are not however gars..

Maybe this should be moved so we can discuss the various fish and not have to deal with all this "Not gar" stuff.. I bet someone might learn something...

Simple hint... ;)

Oh I know, I tried breeding them, and man are the fry a pain to feed. :) Greatest courtship ever, the male would lunge out of a plant to impregnate the female and then dive back in before she could turn around and eat him lol. Eventually she got him though.
