Oh I know, I tried breeding them, and man are the fry a pain to feed. :) Greatest courtship ever, the male would lunge out of a plant to impregnate the female and then dive back in before she could turn around and eat him lol. Eventually she got him though.

Belonesox are a trip to work with. I've had them a few times but never managed to keep them for long periods of time or as a sustained population. They really are quite difficult to work with in the long term in a standard set up. If I had the room to devote I'd like to try pond raising them with a colony of something like convicts or Gambusia affinis. This would likely do very well for them. Tank culture is very problematic.

I didn't have enough baby LBers available to feed the fry unfortunately. I wasn't even expecting them to breed, then while about clean the tank, I noticed these random bits of crap floating around the top of the tank...took me a minute to realize they were baby fish lol.

it got aggesive and bit it so i moved it back to the small tank for now

i figured it was aggression.. gar will often do this as well.

I had 2 Needlenose Gars that mated all the time and produced tons of eggs in my tank. It looks similar to that but I don't think that's what it was. I have video of it as well if you'd like to see it
