Do you get different strains of clown loach? Reason I ask is I see plenty that are nice bright yellow and in contrast brilliant black. Yet some of mines are the oppose, very pale dull yelow, and sort of gray, I have a mixture. They look so different. Any reason for it> they are healthy.

i think i read it was a regional varient like some of them have 4 bands depending on where they originate from.
There are two variations. The base color varies greatly between all clown loaches depending on diet, tank conditions, age, etc. The fish from Borneo have black spots on the anal fins, the fish from Sumatra have Anal fins that are all orange.
