Differentiating Black Rays!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cool. How do i know when to classify a Ray as a BD or PDR? As in how do i tell the 2 apart? Spotting? Skirting? Tail length?

bd are just the highest grade leo p13
leo p13 is the lowest grade less spots
leo/bd is the med grade leo p13
bd = black diamond is the highest grade

expect to pay 4 x more for a bd over a normal leo

helei are just henlei you get people trying to slap a flash name on some like king helei but you wont find much difference in pure blood henlei

as rays people try to add flash names to to kick up the price but at the end of the day some are just more spotty than others

At the end of the day if a black ray of "any" of the above is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye it will fetch a higher price than the norm....pure and simple!!
To give you an idea, I would pay more for a classic with huge spots than say a Bd with lots of messy spotting like a lot you see, now a quality Bd on the other hand is the best black ray of all and will fetch top dollar.
Another example is P14. Wild caught "average" individuals are for me the least aesthetically pleasing black ray of them all but through selective breeding we now have more royal galaxy ones available like the ones Siluk has recently posted, these I have to say look stunning and will and do command a high price.
So what I am basically saying is this, expect to pay more for any of the above if the quality is high regardless of species......people will always pay more for the best spots in black rays, at the end of the day its what your happy with that really matters!

So BDs are Leopoldis as well? What's the difference between a BD and a PDR? How do i tell the difference if i were to see them side by side? Also, do P13s (the lowest grade ones) have a lot of black and just very few small spots here and there?

1. How do BDs look?
2. How do PDRs look?
3. How do the lowest grade of Leos look?

Pictures for all 3 different grades would be excellent! Thanks man!

Yes i understand. At the end of the day it all boils down to personal preference. I love the very messy Designer Rays that look like a Rorschach Mask and would pay more for a piece like that than say an RG.

Best you read all the above posts again as it has been explained to you already about PDR BD and Leo

PDR is a term mainly used in Asia which is silly as all black rays have polka dots
