Hey guys, I'm having difficulty with fish in my 130 gallon as far as cichlids go. My Green Terror and Severum are fine as of now because the Sev has plenty of room to run. But just last month the GT killed a huge Sev that I had during the night. Anyway I love the looks of Red Tiger Motas but is it possible to add one, or will I end up with either a dead Mota or GT? Do I need to add a couple more cichlids to space out aggression, or will my tank then be too overstocked?

Well, there's a reason why they got the name Green Terror... It sounds to me like he owns the tank.... The problem with introducing cichlids when they are too old is the fact that territories have already been established. Introducing cichlids at a young age is the best way to get the mix you want. They get all their squabbling out when they're young and not so lethal. When removing or introducing cichlids in an established hierarchy you're taking a risk at totaol melt down of the pecking order. Which leads to deaths....

In short. I think you're stuck with what you have. Unless you start over completely...

From your signature, it sounds like your tank is sufficiently stocked. I wouldn't add anything else. What's the tank's footprint?

tryto get some "target fish" meaning the others can pick on. A fish that is strong and fast! And get a couple of those

Depending on the size of your arowana, dithers won't last too long. Maybe some silver dollars.

thanks for the advice everyone. im thinking that im going to just get it, and then get rid of it if everything doesnt work out. and if everything does work out, im going to trade the severum in. that way the stocking stays similar to what it is now, since you said that the stocking levels are pretty good.
