are convict cichlids the only cichlids that bury themselves in gravel?

Bury Meaning digging....then Nope. A lot of cichlids move sand, rocks, gravel, etc.

All geophagus do this and oscars will completly rearange your substrate.

I know this is CA/SA board but my fronts dig holes to hide in all the time.

Most cichlids dig. Africans are the worst about it, CA are probably next, followed by SA's. Not all are diggers, but most do.

My FH, Midas, and baby Syn all dig all of the time. Normal.

My Grammodes is a digger. Well more of a mover now with sand. Most of all the female CA/SA's i've kept have digged to lay eggs.

my motag digs constantly so do my jags. the festae will grab mouthfuls of sand and spit them at each other

My red devil has a nice little pile of gravel that he has put up on top of the heater in his tank, I guess he thinks of it kinda like a mantle...
