So far it seems accurate. I don't measure my pH all that often, but the handful of times I have I used both the meter and API liquid tests and came up with the same results.
I been using a digital ph meter in all my tanks for 10 years now. I also have a hand held meter I can use to check if the probe in the tank is accurate, I have an expensive one a Milwaukee and some cheaper ones sold all over ebay from China. They are just as accurate as the Milwaukee. I've tested them side by side.
The Hannah models seem to run between 30 and 150 USD on Amazon. I would be tempted to get two meters and compare the accuracy. They are never going to be like the meters Duanes work uses, but you can at least get a relative reading that should server your purposes.
