Dimming Lights

Lights? Who needs em? Should watch some footage of amazon/jungle rivers the sun don't penatrate the water very far.let your fish judge what they like! Only light half of tank leave other side dark. My $$$ says they stay on dark side!why stress your fish if they like lights great!if they don't. Don't use em, or limit lights to one side.make em get used to it?no wonder there's a lot of skittish fish out there!of the dozen or so tanks I have I have 1 light n 1 heater. My oscars taught me! Every light n heater that touches their tank gets destroyed!they taught me that I don't need em, they don't need em, couple less things that aren't getting plugged in!couple less things to worry about! No cooked fish!no light in bottom of tank, no digging glass out of tank either. Like they said all situations n fish are different! What works for me might not work so well for you or him. Watch your fish! Watch their actions.watch their colors,ect. They'll let you know what they like best!

I dont think a fish knows what a heater is, hes just removing an object from his territory.

i had 8 rbp and applied window tint to the tank before i got them. they were never skiddish until i had to do water changes, tests, or removing items they would not eat or finish.
