Chill humorless dude - it's a (slightly modified) quote from "Pulp Fiction" (replacing "pork" with "scat")....although I think that eating scat is much dirtier than pork.

Matt

Yes matt, I imagine a jew visiting China would eat scat because its just another local delicacy. Be careful what you say about different cultures as I am Jewish as are many other members on here.
all unfunny jokes asside I would like to know which fish the OP did decide to eat.

also is that Allenbatrachus grunniens?

If you've eaten tilapia, you've eaten cichlid :)

All jokes aside about eating scat, the bigger issue associated with eating seafood from China is less about what fish but how it was raised.

For example, the Montery Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Guide recommends to:

"Avoid" farmed tilapia from China and Taiwan, where pollution and weak management are widespread problems.

HA,good one.I've kept them in the past and have eaten the supermarket frozen fillets more recently but I have never made that connection before.
