i just bought a dinosaur bichir from a store here where it looked like it was being mistreated, the water was a brownish color and there was hardly any air in the aquarium ect, so i felt sorry for it and brought it home, he is now in my 55 gallon aquarium, currently in here i have

2 Electric Blue JD's (1 1/2 inches)
2 Chinese algae eaters ( 1 1/2 inches)
2 Black Kuhli Loaches (1 inch and 1 1/2 inches)
1 Pangsius Catfish ( 2 inches )
1 firemouth (1 1/2 inches)

and now the Dinosaur Bichir which is about 2 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches long. there are plenty of hiding places, he ate alot of mysis shrimp when i fed the others so i assume he was hungry, would he be ok with the others? they arent messing with him but im more nervous about him eating them, would he do that to the other cichlids? or would he be more passive?

He will most likely end up eating:

2 Electric Blue JD's (1 1/2 inches)
2 Chinese algae eaters ( 1 1/2 inches)
2 Black Kuhli Loaches (1 inch and 1 1/2 inches)

Also, your Pangsius Catfish will grow to atleast 2' and will outgrow your 55 in less than a year...

yeah the catfish im expecting to get big and he will be seperated, but i hear differant stories, im being told that he wont be able to eat the others because of how big they are, the loaches he might eat but im not really as concerned about them as i am with the others, if that makes sense, that sounds kinda bad after reading it lol but his mouth isnt nearly wide enough to kill, let alone swallow the others

thats what i heard ive had them for about a month and theyve grown about maybe 1/8th of an inch so far, but i also feed them food with alot of protein and vitamins ect

dino bichir is gonna grow bout an inch a month so he'll end up outgrowing and eating most of that, they're very rewarding fish though

Its called a Senegal bichir. He will outgrow and eat your fishes.
Try the Polypterus section, and join the club :)

can you give me some advice and info for my current situation please? you seem to know alot about them lol
