I have no doubt that my 8" endli is consciousl awaiting the day when he can start snacking on my cichlids. He's already started going after my smaller plecos.
the senegal is a bout 3 in and the smallest ebjd in the tank is about a 1.5. Had the Senegal for a day and it seems to be doing good.
i'd watch out. senegals grow pretty quickly, you'll soon have a 5" bichir and a 2" ebjd, sounds like a snack to me
I have a 12-13" long Polypterus Senegalus in my 130g tank with all sized cichlids. From 1/2" babies Severum Rokteil, 1" Sajica, 2" Key Hole Cichlid to 6" and 8" Severums, 10" Cichlasoma Bifaciatus (and many others), I never had problems o any suspect disparitions, the Senegalus is just ignoring the cichlids and the cichlids are ignoring him as well.
yeah sens usually grow fast, especially if you only have one so it may need to be separated at some point to allow the ebjd to catch up though since they are growing together it will probably be fine, i added several cichlids to my tank when they were like 1.5in and i only lost one, they tend to ignore the cichlids since they dont swim jerkily and nervously like prey fish but there is still a very good chance the sen could eat him, they are straight-up predators after all and wont consider how much you paid for and care about that 5-star ebjd meal they are about to eat
