so i have a 100g tank on the way..and im getting a bichir for it.now, today i was at petsmart checking them out..they are labeled "dinosaur bichirs"...after doing a google search it seems like this is just a common name they use for a bichir in general.now im sure you have all gone to petsmart...they have the little baby greyish ones on a regular basis. i know ornates and all that good stuff and these do not look like them.is a dinosaur bichir a specific species or do they just not know wat type they are?

yes polypterus senegalus is the species.

hmm ok thanks for clearing that up...do you guys suggest anything else? ive done a bit of research on the care of bichirs but i dont know too much about them..wat other species are out there that people like?

....theres more these are pretty popular tho

yea theres a petsmart and pet supplies plus by me..they only have dinosaur..there is only one specialty store close to me i still have to check their stock out..ill let you know wat they got

The small grey ones will be senegals, but did you mean they had others labelled as dinasaur or the grey ones were labelled as dinasaur, you may find delhezis or p pollis which are very nice but dont get to the same size as endlis or ornates.
