Dirt cheap filter socks, are they safe??

So ive been looking around for filter sock ideas ever since i added a 7" 100 micron sock to my sump. i was amazed at how clear my water has been, even w/o my diatom filter running. i used to have a 200 micron but too many particles got through.

i ran across this site that has the 7x16" 100 sock for only $2.75!!! LFS sell these things for at least $10. so what do you guys think, safe for an aquarium? it says polyester felt. i have a feeling its the same stuff used for fish tanks :)

shipping is a little expensive, $18 but it looks like a flat rate. so the more you order, the better. ordering 10 would come out to $4.50 per sock

haha yeah that would clog in about 12 seconds on my tank :D thats for super fine filtering!
 
I wish they had housing prices listed or something else shown besides the bucket. I would be interested in getting one with prices that low.

you mean like the housing for the filter sock itself? i found it easier to just tie it to the drain pipe with some thin electrical wire. makes removal and installation a breeze!

ah i see, yeah youll need something very different. so you think these are the same as LFS sell?

What size are you looking for? I think I just found you a steal on these that will blow that deal away.
 
need at least a 7" diameter one, and i think theyre usually 16" long. share please!!!! :naughty: didnt really do much searching, this was the first google search that came up
