dirty lfs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are allot of variables here that are not addressed, the condition of your fish and his subsequent corpse. See if the fins are nipped then odds are your dat did stress/kill the arrow. If the fins are perfect and all that is missing from the body is eyes and stomach with no other damage to the body then no dat. 3" arrows are very young and sensitive, yeah shame on them for basically selling you arrow fry, but you should have perhaps researched the animal enough to know that a 3 inch arrow is a bit of a gamble. As you don't have many posts you don't have a Rapport with this community so we have to ask what where your water parameters, what was the tank size, what is your filtration, what was the tank temp.

Fish stores have all gotten away from refunds since most people get supplies online now and just walk in and get fish they can't guarantee fish (unless they told you that you have a 2 day guarantee or something) They are going for higher margins on what people still come in for. As such you need to look for disease and on high value purchases such as that arrow ask to see it eat. Don't discount quarantine when dealing with smaller fish either, its worth the money setting up a QT in a closet or basement for those first couple weeks. If you sincerely believe that the fish died because of illness/neglect from the fish store, your Dat might well be sick now.

mytemp was around 75-79 my filtration is an overhead emperor penguin rated for 40 gal my tank is a 20 gal high the aro was sinking to the bottom sideways it looked in mint condition there were no signs of bullying the tank went thru a 30% water change 3 days previous and it was eatin fine it ate 2 white clouds and some krill it just didnt add up that it died

also no one told me there wasnt a garuntee and it wasnt posted on the tank then i went in to show them they said its an oddball we dont have a garuntee for them so i asked what the garunteed and they said "fancy guppies mollies platys ya know stuff like that."

That sucks! I'm always sure to ask about live stock guarantees if it's not clearly posted. The only store I deal with that I know of having a guarantee is Big Al's all the smaller shops I go to have it clearly posted no refunds or guarantee in live stock.

An arrow sinking/ dropping it's tail shows that he was in shock from one thing or another. Could have been water hardness. Most shops probably don't test hardness. And you can have the same ph as the store with different hardness.

well i know where not to let off steam about a piss poor business and if i wanted to be perfect with grammar i would have became an english teacher so bash my writing all you want you high and mighty internet nerds

its not piss poor business its the fact that they pay out of pocket for something YOU did wrong.

I agree with you dude, some of these posts are unnecessary and childish. Try and pick through all the rubbish being tossed around and hang on to the jewells. It sucks to lose fish. chalk it up as a lesson learned, And keep pushing.

Once you buy a healthy fish, the next lesson you'll learn about aro's will be to put a secure lid on your tank. Cause you'll think yours won't jump. And one day you'll come home to a crispy arowana on your floor

hope you know 3" inches is still pretty small and harder to take care of. And from all the LFS i been too, none is guaranteed a refund unless its like cichlid/goldfish/guppies cause i believe its more of a beginner fish, common, and inexpensive. lol fishes bought online are live guaranteed cause its shipping over night or days
