Cons can live for A LONG time out of water LOL :) you should look across the room :) You can almost dry them completely out and throw them back in the water and low and behold :D

Though its probably inside of one of your orniments :) that size willfit in most holes that are naturally in orninments :)

nope, no cats...

what about a mouse?
the con could have jump out and got eaten by a mouse

i think the con died of natural causes and the pleco had a easy meal but the mouse idea is somthing to consider.

If you had a female in there the female could might have killed, pleco picked up the mess...secret afaird...one crazy hybrid

I wouldn't just dump another male in that tank right now. He will eat the babies or the female will kill him trying to protect the fry. Without a male the female might eat the babies herself, if she does then introduce a new male once all the current fry are gone. Female cons usually are ready to breed every two weeks or so, you won't have to wait long for new babies!

BTW, I just HATE not finding the body! Just wait, it will turn up dried to the back of a book case or your dog will puke it up. It might be burried in the gravel and you'll find him next water change!
