My little occels i just got last week are freaking out.
they arent showing bars one second they are actually clear spots the opposite of normal and they are swimming still one is bouncing of the bottom about 2 inches and then back down face first into the gravel the other one looks the same but is swimming up and down in one corner they are not eating no poop to stare at and all water parameters check out but i dont dare to treat 1.5 " cichla what do yall think ?

very strange the first thing i would think is water ...and the temps are good ..were you feeding live ?

i think at this point i either treat them and hope or dont treat them and watch them die for sure im gonna treat them with 250 mg metronidazole and 75 mg of praziquantel
i honestly feel it is parasitic every thing i have read is pointing that direction

crappy pic i realize but you can see the blank spots where there normally is bars ive honestly never seen this before but im taking the gamble to save them also i didnt mention this tank has had 2 water changes since thursday all my parmeters are dead on heat at 87

ya probly gill flukes that would be my guess ....proby would take the chance and treat also ...They look very stressed i hope they pull through for ya ...

If you use metronidazole and they are healthy or sick it shouldn't hurt. PBASS are sensitive but Metro is hard to overdose. Good luck I hope they pull through.

I assume these are new bass? Did they show signs of funk when you bought them or were they fine and when you moved them they acted strange? How did it start?

these are the Guyana's correct ? Same thing happened here, I bought a 3 pack off of John, I've lost two. Third seems to be okay. I've treated them, added salt, didnt help. I have another 3 pack coming in today along with Rapp's broko's

well so far they are making it i got my fingers crossed but im still nervous as hell to treat baby cichla if mine pull through today i think they will be somewhat safe ill give john a heads up
