disappearing fish

I went to go and get some feeder minnows today and as I was putting them in the tank I noticed that my foot-long peacock bass was missing! There is nothing in the tank that could have ate him without leaving a significant mess and I checked everywhere around the floor of the tank and NOTHING. Its is the weirdest thing.

I have concluded that it was abducted by aliens. There is no other possible solution...What do you guys think? Has something like this happened to anyone here?

any places for him to hide? behind filters, rocks, sticks, or anything like that? and what tankmates are there?

Check the whole room, fish can flop around alot more then most people think.... and do you have a cat or dog? a 12" PB would make my cat or dog a very happy critter.

found him. nearly 10 feet away from the tank behind one of my snake cages. I would have never guessed he could get that far especially with the way I have my tank set up so that it would have only been able to get out of the BACK of the tank and land behind it in the stand. very strange. I still conclude that he was placed there by aliens...

must have been at least a few hours, he was pretty dry. I know he was in the tank last night though...
