O I was wondering how long can a jag be housed in a 29 gal dim 30x12x18 because I may just do as Mystix212 said and grow it out and sell it to the LFS that or if I like his/her personality I may empty my 110 for it, it is a 48x24x22 can it live in there for the rest of his/her life.

straitjacketstar I did not actually refering to bolty's frys but the parent sorry for the confusion. The jag I saw was nothing like bolty's fry it had more yellow pigment. As to mood, it seemed to be the dominant fish in the tank because he was the biggest and chased most of the jags in with it. Are you saying that regular jag can develope yellow pigment? If they can I didn't know that:confused: . But you may be right seeing that I don't know my fishes.

Well if it was that bright and clean it was probably xanthic. From what I've read they do start off like normal looking jags. I've seen xanthic freddies posted on other sites as well, they also started off looking like normal freddies. Interestingly enough the occurrence of xanthic Parachromis sp. seems to be focused in Australia with several in the UK as well.

This thread is worthless without a photo. Odds are it wasn't even a jag, and if it was there is even less chance of it being xanthic.

I'll eat crow if he can go get a photo of this baby jag and it's xanthic, but it's not gonna happen. :D

sorry i have been busy with getting into school so I have no chance to reply. I guess it was maybe just a gold jag because when I went back to buy it it still have the same color but when they took it out it looked like a regular jag so i freaked and said I didn't want it anymore. But after I got out I said man it could have just been stressed and change color. O and some of the jags in that tank began to show yellow those one that I saw was black:screwy: . So I don't know I guees Ill go back and buy it and show it to you guys assuming its still there.
