DISASTER! (chickenfish 4 ) this is just getting worse folks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If its swimming it should be fine. Why are use using salt? fresh clean water should do it. No need for salt and a raised temp for a fish that was already stressed. Good luck. Next time close the lid:)

i had a vieja regani jump out, i was only gone 30 minutes and he was deader than a door nail when my 'ol lady got home and found him.. so it didnt take long for me.

Roger wilco. I already added a little salt to the tank, but only a little bit -- 10 tablespoons dissolved and added over a few hours. I'll leave it alone now. I will do water changes and keep it clean, and I will add no more salt. Temp has stayed at 78 fahrenheit, and I'll leave it there. Lid on -- lights off -- no food for JD and I'll see how it goes for a week. Its morning now and she is looking surprisingly good considering what happened. Yes, I got very lucky. That fish was probably only a minute or two away from dying on the floor. Yikes!

Oh, I also taped newspaper to the sides of her tank to block out stray light. The only exposed surface is the front and top. That should help cut down on stress from seeing movement and having glaring houselights shining in the tank.
