Disaster Leads to Change...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks, Reggie. I will trust your judgment on that, and go ahead and pass. I have been developing an interest in cubans lately, but maybe another time. I'm not looking to create a war zone! LOL... I appreciate the advice.

man im sorry to hear about your situation rich.. Losing fish is always very hard =(. But like you said on the brighter side you have been given a great opportunity to start another awsome tank!! For tankmates of your cutteri and geos maybe go with another cryptoheros species such as sajica, nanoluteus, panamensis, myrnae.. septemfasciatus look intruiging as well! Alot of the cryptos have amazing colors with the personality to boot! Also I have seen quite a few around on the forums here that have a very robust body build with a nuchal hump when they get bigger like an amphilophus.

Hmm... nice options, man. I like sajicas too. I'll research these and see what strikes my fancy. Thanks for the great suggestions! And to everyone, I do appreciate the sentiments on the losses.

if your looking to do a pair in the 75 think about getting a grammodes pair. I have been doing alot of looking around for a fish to go with my growouts when i set up my 150 and i have been giving alot of thought to the red isletas and i think you should look into them. They stay much smaller then devils and midas arounf 10 inches. My friends male is 9 inches and very gentle

Maybe you would consider a pair of centrarchus if you go with the multiple small pairs. I love mines. If you go with a single pair in the 75 the cubans would work well and they do tend to get along quite well.

I appreciate the suggestion, guys. I'm moving the lyonsi to the 75, and plan to try to find a girlfriend for him that he doesn't want to kill (like he wanted to kill the last one). So that'll be all set. It'll just be that pair in the 75. The 125 will have the cutteri pair, the geo pair, and then I was hoping for one more thing I could put with the cutter in the 125. Thinking of sajica right now, but will research others, and actually, I have had a pair of centrarchus before. Then I'm gonna finish it off with some kind of group of giant danio or silver dollar or something like that.

You should go with livebearers like sailfin mollies. I had some a while ago and they were very entertaining. I will have to post a video up.

Don't underestimate cutteri. Mine were some of the most aggressive fish I've ever owned when spawning, which they did every couple weeks. Took over an entire 125 with other tough CA cichlids.
