Well, last night for the first time in my fish keeping career, I had my first disaster.... I was at my buddy's house, he had a 4 foot 150, 48x24x30 i think, and we were setting up a bare bottom discus tank. While filling, we were working on the canister filter and noticed some drips. We had the python hooked up on the other end of the basement filling and the canister was making a mess so we thought we were spilling water. Well at this point we were about 90 percent full. After taking a closer look, we noticed a trickle of water coming from the bottom seam... as we are trying to determine how bad it is BOOOM the seam bursts...panic ensues. Water is gushing out of the seams all over my friends' room, and I grab buckets, rubbermaid tubs, pots, even an empty ten gallon to slow the flow of water onto his floor. While all this is happening, we do not realize that the sink on the other end of the basement is completely clogged and overflowing. Turns out, it is actually worse than the tank flood. So when its all said and done, his room and other side of the basement is flooded and all our work went to waste. Luckily, the tank can be resealed so its not a total loss. MAKE SURE TO TEST FILL USED TANKS.
