quick question....since the seal completely failed...do i have to take apart the tank and redo all the seals? or could i redo the inside seals really well...also, the previous owner took off the bottom trim/support for some reason...the top trim is still onmshill90;5106731; said:

IMO, I would cut away as much of the silicon as you can... and reseal every side of the tank.. BUT, you definitely need that support.
I could call around to some stores, and see where you can get one.. might be like $50 or so.
EDIT: since the bottom doesn't have a trim, seal the outer as well on the bottom.
wait, reseal a tank in 10 min!?!?!?!?is that just adding more silicone to the existing? no way you can strip it down and redo it that quick, if so i need to learn your tricks
Yow, definite bummer man, I feel your pain! I started automatically resealing all used tanks just because I've read about other people's leaks and bursts! For the last few years I've resealed every used tank I buy and then fill it outside on the back porch, letting it sit for a few days to be sure. So far, so good, thank God I've never had a bad leak and I hope that continues to be the case!

It doesn't take hours to reseal a tank like it seems to take most people for some reason..
The 240 was stripped, cleaned, and resealed in about half an hour.
