Had a disaster, A few weeks ago I decided to put k1 into my sump so before straight swapping it with my ceramic media I put the k1 in with it for 3-4 weeks and then set it up fluidised, but unfortunately I don’t think that was enough time for it to mature as I then had a spike of ammonia and a follow up of nitrite after the swap.
My fish then had ich and wasn’t looking to good.
Turned the heaters up to 30 c but my heaters failed and cooked the water
Which killed one bass and all fish gasping for breath
Ameidiately swapped heaters and cooled water but eventually all fish passed
Absolutely gutted Was planning on keeping two of the bass
So I won’t be updating on these fish anymore but will still be lurking and posting more updates when I get my water back on track and decide on what next.

Sorry for your loss, I’m bummed for you.

bummers, IMHO cranking the water up to 86 to 89 is the safest way to treat ICK, faulty heater another matter.
