I want some bigger fish, but it just isn't happening for me, bcuz I can't get tanks!
The CL So Cal Ads are 3 1/2 hrs minimum drive, and most are 5-6 hrs. Truck gas 'just for that' pretty much cancels out bargains. My husband goes south fairly often, but it hasn't coincided with good deals. They sell quick.

It actually occurred to me to get rid of my Geos so I can at least obtain the H psittacus I want, instead of missing out on a fish I really want.. My tank won't be sufficient for it long term, but whatever..
:-(

That's about it.

That's rough! Just keep looking! I don't know your financial resources but if they are abundant, perhaps you could look into having a tank shipped? Or even built? Or, just keep watching, there's no way you're the ONLY one in your area that keeps fish!

LOL. wanna bet? well, sometimes small glass tanks run in local Ads. but I'm looking for acrylic 180G, 6'x2'x2' for a wall & a decent cabinet bcuz it's in the main living area. can't afford new big tank prices. Glass is too heavy.

just schedule the meet with them and rob them. thats what i do. keeps money in my pocket.

That's not a half bad idea....... probably easier than carrying off big tanks and trying to look casual about it.

Keep your eyes open, I actually got a 90g and a 75g both sitting on the side of the road. Also keep in contact with your lfs, people are always looking to sell tanks back to where the bought them from. BTW-you anywhere close to the bay area?

Did you used to work at Disneyland?..on the "It's a Small World" ride, maybe. you're helpful in such a cute way.
LOL.
Far from bay area... closer to mammoth mountain. you say "fish" around here, everybody thinks "where on the river, or which lake?".

Try living over here in South Dakota. There are no lfs no tanks and no fish other than standard petco crap. I have seen more fish and tanks in the marketplace forum on this site in cali in one month than I have seen in 10 years here

No one ever likes this Idea, me included but you can always save up the money for a really nice tank/cabinet combo

I'm glad I don't live in SD.... but in 10 yrs you have seen something listed during a month on MFKs marketplace?
Not here. LOL.
We do have a tiny pet store with some community fish.
