I remember seeing the episode with the Archer. I think in the same episode, they also showed an arowana. It jumped far out of the water to catch a beatle on a branch. I remember the narrator talked about the aros catching birds and stuff in the wild.

That was the first time i'd ever heard / seen an arowana. But then again, I watched that video like 10+ years ago.
 
I think that was an archerfish, they are named for it.

I want to see some footage of a aro taking down a bird.

There are several species of archerfish (genus Toxotes) the largescale (T. chatareus) is the largest I think at up to 16", the more common banded archer (t. jaculatrix) is lasted at up to 10".
 
I couldn't find a good shot of mine jumping last night....but I'll keep looking.

A bird would be no problem for an adult arowana. I used to do mice every now and then for a treat.

I heard feathers are easyer to digest then fur!! :D
