Hello all! So I want to add something to help keep the discus tank clean in between water changes. I know you aren't supposed to use plecos with discus, so I was wondering if anyone uses snails? I did read that it increases the risk of parasites, how worried about that should I be? Thanks for the help!

I don't think it will help clean your tank at all between water changes, but if it helps at all my girlfriend had no problems with her apple and mystery snails sharing a tank with her 4 angel fish. The angels only showed aggression towards each other and never bothered the snails. I know they aren't discuss, but I'm pretty sure they are quite similar.
don't know much about the snails, but bn plecos are safe with discus. I had a bn that cleaned pretty good until it got to adult size. then, like many plecos, it realized that it was easier to eat the discus food instead of the algae. plus the fact that it produced more crap than all eight of my discus combined. I got rid of it and just brush the algae off the wood. I do not have plants, so it's not a big deal.
Thanks! That's actually what I ended up going with too! Really didn't want to go the pleco route for the same reasons you mentioned, but oh well...it'll do it's job while it's small anyway 
I think you should add a snapping turtle, African Tiger fish & a alligator Gar.....Should take care of your discus problem...:j/k:
the more "help" the lazier youll get with water change. nothing beats a daily dose of water change. your discus will be ALOT happier and will love you more for it. infact everytime i stick my hand in the tank to syphione the water they give me a "kiss" (either that or they think its feeding time lol)
