I would see no problem at all keeping a discus with my lone Oscar. I would add more dense plant-work and a few driftwood sticks for the O and Discus to lurk in. But I don't know your pair or O's, so I can't say. And, as said, a pair of O's is way more likely to erupt in slaughter than one alone.
