Discus and Stingray?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
After seeing the other pics, the pseudo in the picture appears to be L600. Awesome but would worry about the plecs sucking on the rays.

GO FOR IT my friend has this set up of 3 discus, a silver aro, and a motoro looks awesome it covers top middle and bottom, go for it. Rays r generally calm and since they are picky i doubt that it will eat the discus just get some big discus first and get a small ray so they can go together and make the aro a little bigger than the ray jardni i dnt recommend as they are more agressing but they go well with rays all together. Just discus are ya. And no the temp in the tank will not be a problem for the aro even. discus 80-85 degrees same with motoro and aro 78-82 but i keep my tank at around 84 and he does just fine

Hmmmm.....my ray is a 6" motor and the discus would only be 2-3"....everything I have read said that anything I put in with the ray could be a potential risk... I just wanted to see how many that keep discus have tried this combo and what the results were

Why?

In talking to both Ray keepers and Discus keepers, the Discus can have a tendancy to peck at the eyes of the ray.(unless you get some of the more expensive mid water discus?)...or the Ray will eat the Discus...I dont want either one of these scenarios to happen, so I will find an alternative. I know it is POSSIBLE to keep the two together, but I am new to rays and have done alot to get where I am, not really wanting to jeapordize my ray....I am going to play on the safe side and keep my ray alone......for now!
