thanks for that insight, but considering it is an biotope tank, i want to keep it amazon. That means congos and gouramis are out (BTW, i have congos in my current community tank, and i love them, but they arent amazonian) Thanks though

yes, but dont metal halides have to be suspended anyway? I want to grow some plants above the tank as well, with the same lighting, so it will have to suspended around a foot above the tank. I will use more light than i would use on a normal tank, but i would like to know how much more i would need
that is one of my questions - what would be a good fixture that would suit my needs, and is not overly expensive.
