Discus Filtration

So I'm going to do a 90g discus show tank. I'm going to run UV and Ebo Jager heaters. I'm thinking of running a sole Eheim 2028 Pro II for the tank. It's rated at 277 GPH. I'm planning on having 6-8 discus, a handful of clown loaches, a few ottos, a pair of rams, and possibly a B.Juruense. Its going to be semi planted, if that means anything. Do you think I'll be fine?

i think you should lose the loaches, they move fast which can stress the discus and can out compete the discus for food.

the eheim sounds fine to me. Discus dont like alot of current.

THanks for the reply. I thought I should note that I plan on doing weekly/possibly biweekly waterchanges.

Just a sidenote since I'm here. When people recommend water changes, does that mean simply siphoning water from the tank, or vacuuming the substrate?

definately siphoning the water/ depends if you have substrate, otherwise yes to vaccuming.
