My friends dad has a 180g tank with 7 discus and some neon tetras. He wanted to know if angel fish would be to aggressive towards the discus and what type of plecos would be able to co exist with the discus happily

your "friends dad" should really take care of his discus dropping dead problem first

It's fixed the one discus was just not healthy from the beginning and he's not getting anything now he's just looking for ideas to add to the tank now that his fish are stabilized. Thanks for the input tho

an unhealthy discus wont survive 2 months and just suddenly have its fins clamped then dies the next day.

but in any case...

no pleco is discus friendly but BN has had a great success rate. if the fish are already stablize why mess with the tank and risk another discus dying?

Albino bristle-nose plecostomus should be fine with them. These plecos stay small. They grow to about 4 inches total body length.

I have them in my discus tank without a problem.

I get where your coming from and totally understand what your saying but he wants to know what he could ad to the tank as a bottom feeder so I was wondering would a few clown loaches be a better choice ?

certain cory cats are better tank mate and are much safer than a bn

I have alot of sucess with L134s and L183s also. The L134s are not great tank cleaners. The L183s are good cleaners and are a small bristlenose also. Both stay around 4" and can handle discus temps.
