that is an awsome setup thanks for sharing , im not into discus but his dedication is amazing

Beautiful set up - seems very efficient.

How do you deal with feeding? I would be interested to hear your food recipe, as well.

Thank you all, now you maybe understand why Discus people call it here "Disney Discus Land"

It's "Land" because Stendker in Germany is "World" :) :) :)

We've at the moment 350 tanks on +/- 3,000 sq feet, Stendker has 5 buildings next to each other , tanks ???? I asked Jorg the last time and that was before they start using the 5th building........he lost counting but it's over 2,000 tanks and most look like this (see picture)

Btw. for those interested I give a talk, from how I started in Holland, the Stendker hatchery, move to Baltimore etc. etc. total at the moment 335 pictures and growing
We don't charge for the talk, under 3 hours from Baltimore we drive up and down same day, club only pais fuel.
Over 3 hours fuel and Hotel room for Joanne & me.
Over 8 hours we can discuss, drive, or flight & hotel for Joanne & me.

If I do a talk we always bring some Discus to auction off after the talk, I don't think there has been any club who lost money on my talk :D :D

unprofessional if I run I can feed all the fish in 1.5 hour.

What we use for food, just ask, I've NO secrets :WHOA:

3 lbs. ground beef (93/7% fat or leaner, the leaner the better)
1/2 lb. cod (skinless)
1/2 lb. shrimp (peeled)
+/- 2 table spoons peas (from a can)
Everything raw, I put it through a meat grinder and then in the mixer.

In the bowl add:
25% flake food (by volume)
1 ounces of Red Paprika powder
+ vitamins (7 tablets)
and +/- 2 table spoons Oatmeal.
Vitamins I use human A to Zinc from Centrum, put them in a coffee grinder and mix in the food.
But you can use anything they sell in the fish shop.

We freeze it in cans of 5 to 6 lbs (1 feeding lol)
You can freeze it in ziplock bags (fish bags work too) freeze it and taw what you need the next day.

ikevi were you the one who lend my drill for the air valves? You know you've to understand in 4 days we meet so many new and old friends (and I'm getting a little older :irked:) and those ACA days always take a lot out of us, to remember all.

Yah I fully understand. I was still recovering a week later. (And I didn't have to pack and move any fish like you did.)

I, Kevin, did borrow your drill at one point. All I can say is that if I ever get a setup large enough I am definitely getting a bit like the one you have.

Anyways back to water changes for me. (While I don't quite have it setup like your, at least I just have to move two tubes and push buttons and all is done for me.) Though someday I think I am going to have to do something similar to you sump flushing system, since cleaning by large filters gets to be a pain.

Ha, than I got the right one, I'm not TOO old lol

The flushing of the system is something I designed on the new systems, I like it so much that I'm in the process of changing all my filters to this system. Empty all the tanks, move the racks so I can work on them, clean the tanks complete now I got them out of the rack, build the filters in the racks move them back, fill them again and..............MORE DISCUS lol
