Well the plan was to start out with four but when I got there they only had three. They are ordering some more for friday. I plan on getting quite a few and it mainly just being discus. I got some beefheart and blackworms today and he loved it so I am pretty happy now. His coloration is great he is a super red and very bright. As long as he keeps eating I will feel better.
I am really hoping that it is just cause he is new. I just did a water change and I have been keeping up with them ever since I got them. Wish me luck.
is the fish new to your tank?
i would try beefheart i used to get my own from the market chop it up then get that tetra tropical granules smash it to dust then mix the two together and freeze it in the little cube trays the blood worms come in
my fish loved it
Now that the Discus is eating it will also accept many other foods. A variety of foods is always a good idea.
If this tank is going to be a discus tank the you can keep ten very comfortably.
You should not keep shovel nose catfish with discus because the catfish gets too large and aggressive, especially at night. This can lead to chronic stress among the Discus and stresses of any kind can cause Discus to decline. By the time you figure out the cause it is often too late for the Discus as they do not rebound well from prolonged stress of any kind. Besides it will allow you to keep some smaller peaceful fish with your Discus. Discus should always be the lords of their tank.
