I think those red/browns are my favourite. A few of those new additions look like a few of the discus my brother got from John last winter. Stunning pics and fish as usual. I think this thread will make a lot of the mfk'ers turn to discus. And I think you should start taking pics for Johns fs threads.
LOL Joey will take care of the discus conversion, I'll do the plants. Together we'll make over all these bare tanks :D Actually, I've been wanting discus ever since you showed me yours a long time ago. Now I'm finally pulling the trigger.

Thanks for the info and links folks. Doesn't seem like wilds are all that tough and yeah, seems like a lot of the info out there is just MYTH.

JOEY!!!!!! Those new discus are incredible. I see no reason to buy from anybody else besides John, I'm SOLD!!!! I think I can add two more to my tank. Help me out though, you described three species, but they all look the same to me. Which is which? They're all beautiful. I shall be placing an order with John in the near future without a doubt!!

Hey J,

I know for sure the one below is the Belem Brown because I only got 1 (which I regret, should have gotten at least 2)..... the Nhamunda Blue's and Red's I can't tell either...lol... hahaha... maybe John can point them out. But you can't go wrong. Bro get the Nhamunda Blue ( $50.00 each ) you won't be disappointing. To get your feet wet with the wilds.

Were both on the same boat man with Discus. I'm still trying to learn the variants.

Ah ok, the Nhamundas are the ones that really caught my eye then, they are stunning! And shoot, that price is the same I paid for my fruity pebbles mutts :nilly:

Those are actually my brothers discus. He has had them almost a year now. I had my indo's in w/ them for the majority of the time and that stressed em out the last couple months. But now that they have a tank nearly to themselves they are much nicer looking...not stressed. And now they are in a tank that isnt all scratched up and can be photographed. Sean should be posting pics up soon.

Joey those red browns are amazing. I love those discus. Id love to do a planted discus tank in the future. Jose I'll be needing your help. BUt it will be a while.

Bro, like what we discussed. This whole Discus scene is just like PBASS.

For people who hesitate buying from you is just missing out. It's actually better they don't because it's more for me...lol....

That's why I haven't pushed that button bro. The Discus you get are incredible. I want more of the Belem brown.... I'm going to the RED CROSS tomorrow to donate some blood. I need a shipment before X-Mas...lol

Okay John, help me out here... Here are pic's of the Nhamunda Red, Nhamunda Blue, Belem Brown. Not even 24hrs in the tank and they all look amazing,,,

Joey,

The reds and the blues look so close alike, the blues dont have as much red in them. They may possibly all be blues, but are sold to me as reds and blues.

I had 4 of the Red brown belems for Wes but I havent heard back from him since the day you two were deciding.

I have 5 left, and all 5 look exactly like the one that you have. "High Body" Red eye with black halos 6"-7" insize. They are by far $200+ fish, and only cost $60.00 ea ;) Just amazing looking!

If you want them let me know. You will have the color you are looking for if you add a few more of them.

Plus with the blue moons and all they other oddball discus my supplier told me the 1st of the year he will be ready to supply me with some of those hard to find species.

I will include pictures of some we brought in over the last few years after I answer my 4 pages of emails. lol.

Thanks,
John

Jose, I think you could get 3 or 4 more. If you plan to keep the three you just picked up, I'd say you could go for some heckels or at least the brown-based fish with the most blue striations in there. I think that'd be a good blend with your plants and the three domestics you already have.

Of course all would look good...

John, we had talked about me getting Uatumans last month and that discussion sort of petered out. Once I go on my Christmas gift spending binge tomorrow I may just have to send a deposit to line up some primo January fish... I'll give you some time to sort through your 4 pages, but I think tomorrow I'm going to start pestering you again. :)

Thanks for getting everyone all these great fish at great prices!
