Not hard to take care of at all. Just keep up on your water changes and get them from a good source. The cleaner your water is the healthier and brighter they will be. I love mine 4 to 6 is a good number 6 being better. Do your research, there is a lot of info out there about their requirements. Also, be careful when picking tank mates.
I agree with JamieC77. Water quality is the most important thing to remember. Other than that just keep your parameters consistent.
Don't know about tetra, but isn't cory cat intolerate to high temp. and salt? (I put salt in my discus tank once a while). Another thing is, once cory cat spawn, they make enough mess to water, which discus might not be able to tolerate.

There isn't any reason to be using salt with discus.
Corydoras sterbai is one widely available species that will do well with discus but as to Corys.
As Corydoras breeder on a wholesale scale, I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that spawning Corys mess up your water. It is more likely something else.

I was speaking from my actual experience because I've seen some benefits from using salt for my discus, of course, every one has difference result from doing things, that is why it makes fish keeping so challenging. Seeing that, I simply just mentioned a thing or 2 for others to be considered. If u do not know the reason for using salt in discus, or decide to completely stay away from salt, no bad feeling. Best of all, try to google "dicus/salt", I am sure there are tons of articles for salt in discus.
Plenty of cory's out there that are warm water tolerant, as well as others that are cold water tolerant, just gotta do your homework =)
Only thing different from discus with other fish are that they're overly prone to parasite infections and require more frequent water changes, in other words don't feed them live foods you haven't cultured yourself and be prepared to have a 100% turnover of your tanks water going at least once a week.

Few corys would have a problem with discus, no spawns from cory's would foul your water (unless the entire batch dies, and that still won't do much), and discus do not need salt. Apistomaster speaks from experience, as I know he has been breeding discus for decades now, and also breeds several different varieties of corydoras.mwvtl;1527888;1527888 said:
