yea, like i said, there are times that the water evaporated and water was added to it. I'm thinkin thats like 2 or 3 months w/o a water change. and people say they cant survive that. so i mean ive read that discus has high requirements for them, but is it really neccessary like people say? like what is the worst condition for survivability
The scenario with discus is completely different from the scenario involving other species. If juvenile discus are involved here, negligence results in very poor health condition of the fish and even stunting. The same thing can be said with the adults. Discus like extra attention from their owners. If you cannot do a minimum of even a week, then why choose discus as your preferred fish at all?
hey at first i had huge troubles in keeping discus. i only lost a few, but i just cannot stand to lose a fish. i currently have 5 discus and they have moved me me a lot over hundreds of miles. what worked for me is a product called chemi pure elite. its totally worth it. i only do water changes every other week, and you only have to replace chemi pure every six months. it works!!!!!!
wow chemi pure... is that thing expensive? and how much water do you change bi weekly. bi weekly is something i could handle, not 50% every week. thats just too krayzie
I'd be interested to know the water parameters from a biweekly regimen. Prophet, I do not believe, judging from the regimen you chose, discus is your type of fish. Why not try other fish instead of putting an expensive fish to risk of health issues?
im sure you meant "not" my type of fish right? well.. nothing else looks attractive. i guess i still need to do research cause im not getting enough answers in the forums
It is not that you are not getting answers it is that you are not getting the answers you want.....
Most people would not want to see how much abuse their expensive fish can take....
In one of your posts you say you sometimes leave it 3 months without a wc in my book you shouldnt have any fish, thats shocking! Like lupin said if you cant commit to at least one wc a week then you should not have these fish or any for that matter,i do once a week changes on mine probably 30% and they are fine,as for angels,as long as you buy them the same size as the discus and grow them up together they will be fine.mine are.
