I have found that with a lot of the stands that people build, construction adhesive is not really necessary. I will admit that on one or more occasion, I have use wood glue on joints. But that was mainly because pops won't build anything without wood glue. haha. Anyway, Construction adhesive will just make the stand hard to take apart if ever needed. A properly built stand will do fine with just screws.
