You guys all make really good arguments,in 6 monthes i will be getting a 300 gal tank and would love a Dovii,but then i would be stuck with only 1 fish,i love Pikes but they are really hard to find 1 around here,and i have had several Silvers and are just tired of them.I have a 3 inch Tri now but not sure how big they get.

I pick anything Amphilophus when it comes to a solo fish, so I voted Trimac. However, in a 300 I think you could do a dovii pair. I feel like that is the standard for a pair of those.
