can distilled water be Alternative solution for the RO-filter water for example to breed oscars or discus ??

how can u get that much distilled if you dont mind me askin..

also re ur question i cant see why not i know the ro filter i have for car wash takes out even germs, and distilled would do same

i have a source that i can buy from .. as RO-Filters are nor cheap here in my country and i cant offer for them now .. so i need something more cheaper for oscar breeding .. thats why im asking :)

Distilled is fine but can still contain phosphates. If possible check out eBay. I purchased my RO/DI filter for 85.00 free shipping worldwide. It has been amazing. puts off average of 100 gallons a day if needed. Also hooks up to any water spigot.

im from egypt so i dont know it will work out or not :(

wow thats a cheep ro, i payed 7,000 for mine 6 years ago, the main filter alone costs 400 but mine is for makin bout 300l ph so maybe thats why,or elce i got shafted lol.......
i coped this from www iThe basic unit of measurement of conductivity is the mho or siemens. Conductivity is measured in micromhos per centimeter (µmhos/cm) or microsiemens per centimeter (µs/cm). Distilled water has a conductivity in the range of 0.5 to 3 µmhos/cm. The conductivity of rivers in the United States generally ranges from 50 to 1500 µmhos/cm. Studies of inland fresh waters indicate that streams supporting good mixed fisheries have a range between 150 and 500 µhos/cm. Conductivity outside this range could indicate that the water is not suitable for certain species of fish or macroinvertebrates. Industrial waters can range as high as 10,000 µmhos/cm.
t might help.

yeah its fine i use to use it on my old salt water tank back when i had one

I always heard distilled water was bad because it had very little mineral content in it and over time fish will lack essential minerals and health will suffer. Never looked into much, I use tap water most of the time or R/O if we have water issues.

With distilled or RO, you want to add essential minerals back in. I use either replenish by seachem or RO right by microbe lift.
