OK...before I start let me mention that I know Im an Idiot and do some stupid things...thats a given. So I had tore down my 50g to resilicone it. It had an xp3, sponge filter, and a fluval 4+ powerhead. I put the fish in the 20g temp tank and put the sponge filter and powerhead with them. All was well. I resiliconed and gave it about 1 1/2weeks time to cure. So as I put the finishing touches on re-setting up the 50g, I added my new driftwood. While admiring my new look, I forgot to empty the xp3 of the OLD WATER FROM 2 WEEKS PRIOR!!! Flipped the switch and passed out from the god awful smell of rotten eggs. As I gathered myself, I was in shock to the look of "crap snow" in the tank. So I did a 80% water change and added some ammolock and stress zyme and it seemed to do ok for a couple days. So 3 days later I went to rinse the filters and theres this white film all over everything in the tank and if its disturbed, theres that rotten egg smell again. How do I get rid of it?!!!!!!

Eww, clean and wash everything. You've probably nuked the bio-filter anyways...

clean out the filter good aagain nd let it dry in the sun before installing back on

clean it. I bet thats the last time you do that!! I know that smell all to well, I left, ironically, an xp3 sitting for sometime and went to move it to finally clean it out and such, and spilled it on the floor...

I did that once, accept only for like 3 to 4 days though.

I know that smell

Just wash everything

wash it with HOTTT water!! LMAO
