Dither Experience

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my experience, the greater the number of dithers your tank contains, the MORE camouflaged it will become; solely based on the fact that he is an ambush predator and will wait for his prey. The greater number of prey, the more opportunities to ambush, therefor more hiding. He will lie stationary until the opportunity arrives.

I tried to feed my P a convict, but has turned out to be a dither fish. I don't know why, but he has temporary immunity going on 2.5 years.

My P has been more visible with a single dither, rather than multiple. Just my experience though.

I guess it depends on what you call a dither. Mine are 1" to 1 1/2" and my 14" picks the odd one off but not many. I'm seeing that he can catch the Giant Danio's but haven't noticed my Buenos Aires stock dwindling. I would think that for smaller fish, anything bigger than a neon is gonna get hammered.

95% chance he will pick them off, unless you end up with a rare case of cohabitation. But I'm glad to hear the "dither" experiment is working for ya.

after skimming this thread....all i have to say is you guys waste alot of money! geez. just donate it for me instead of blowing it in your aquarium. sure you'll have nothing to show for it but you don't the way you're blowing it either
