is there any dither fish that will work for the armatus to keep chasing it and be active in the tank? i have a 3" in a 60 gal for now and id like to see movements. thanks!

GATF

jk...

i think at smaller sizes they dont do much chasing and dithers would serve only to take up space. prob similar case when it's a large fish. risk annoying it with a dither to get it moving all the time.

I have just started to use some small dollars to bring out my Tats and it has worked quite well. two tats 8", 6 Dollars in a 180. Not the same setup but thought it might be worth mentioning.

will a same size bala shark do? armatus doesnt like slender and silvery and shinny right? i got a 3 incher so same or smaller bala shark?

geo's, peacock bass, mostly something that wont bother him and big enough that can't get eaten:)

I would recommend some herbivorous characins like silver dollars.

I have a bala shark with my armatus, be aware that mine is growing VERY slowly compared to my armatus, if your gonna do that get a tinfoil or something that grows faster, my bala is almost 4 years old and just hit about 9 inches.

A bala shark might be to robust for such a small armatus. All payaras are fragile. Try redhooks or something else that won't get big fast.
