dither fish for jack dempseys

right now my 50g is pretty empty i have 1 male and 1female jack dempseys and im wanting them to breed. Any ideas on dither fish?:help2:
 
Giant Danios always work well and they don't cost much either.
 
anything thats cheap and active. guppies, platies zebra danio's.
when jack dempsey grows up can eat them as a reward

A group of 8 or 10 giant danios would be great. They get to be pretty big and honestly swim fast enough that you can't track them with your eyes when they want to. Your dempsies won't catch them.
 
When I bred JDs, EBJDs and BG's, I used just regular JD's as dithers. They work perfectly. But make sure they are smaller and healthy runts.
