Should be fine but they get big and take up a lot of tank space.

Hey guys what would be a good choice for a type of dither fish that i can put in schools of in a 135 Gal tank. Ill be stocking a jag-oscar-gt-jd.

SDs are good. The right size and they are interesting looking. How big is your tank?

i have no experience with argentea but the filaments may eventually become a snack for the FH and loisellei, they only get to about 5-6" but they are slender where a dollar is very tall so harder to eat.
cons work as good dithers/targets but be warned they like to fight back and for the most part will not back down. also im not sure if your tank needs anymore ballsy fish.

Mine have bred a couple of times in my 265g cichlid tank. I didn't know until I found the babies living and growing up in the overflows lol.

i still think cons may work. they have the speed of a good dither and are tough enough to work as a target as well, even with the big guns your stocking. but like i said i am unsure if adding another ballsy fish would be good for the dynamics of the tank. someone will chime in who has used them this way.
