I recently put a few danios in my tank as dither fish so my blood parrot would come out more as he hides a lot. However it seems like this just made him hide more. Any ideas why that is?
Thanks!

The blood parrot is reacting to the danios.
They are new and giving the warning signal of danger to the cichlid when you are approaching the aquarium. Give a little time and hopefully the danios will settle once they are comfortable with you.

Is there anything else in the room that may be spooking the fish, or even a window that they can see out of?

How big are the danios compared to the parrot? A good sized giant danio can be just as mean as a cichlid and have the reverse effect when the cichlid is small.
Otherwise, I’d give it time for the fish to get used to their new system and the parrot to get used to the danios.

Some of the key words in the original post of importance here, may be, "a few ".
In nature danios, and other dither species, is that, as a few, the danios may not be comfortable themselves, so can be produce a counter dither effect.
If you look at the shot above, from a Cenote in Mexico, the dithers are many, that gives "them" a sense of security, and at the same time, the cichlids watching them, instinctually sense their security , so feel secure themselve (dithers are cichlid early warning systems).
Once the danios settle in, this may change, unless the cichlid is sniping at them.
in the video below from another Cenote, compare numbers of dithers to cichlids.
