why don't you get rid of some fish....or stop buying new fish.......Take your cons back to the LFS and see if they will take them Or get a bigger tank

as i have stated before i will be using the cons as breeders to feed live food to my trimac once he or she is in my 125gal tank that i will setup when the fish grow over 8inch

Err the neons dint survive the first day,, well 1 did,,, anywayze i guess ill go with some silver dollars when i get some more money

well good luck growing those three out in a 55 gallon together. I'm not saying 100% it's not going to work but I highly doubt that all three will make it. Maybe the Trimac and Butterkoferi.............but stranger things have happened . Why don't you put the cons in your other tank then? How are they supposed to be feeders if they're parents beating up your fish their fry are supposed to be feeding?

I'm not trying to be an ahole here but 2 weeks ago you started out asking what would be a good single fish for a 55 gallon. You were given a bunch of opinions and went out and bought one. Then you went out and bought another one and another one. Then you say how you already had it overstocked more fish than should be in a 55, including a Pacu. Then you got rid of a bunch of fish. Good idea by the way. I'm just trying to help you out and save you some heartache of dead fish. I have tried raising multiple SA/CA fish in a 55 and it doesn't usually work. And those were smaller less aggressive fish. I don't know a whole lot about the xingu but I do know that Trimacs and butterkoferi are freaking hellions and on average try to kill everything can upon reaching sexual maturity(which by the way is way less than 8 inches) I would guess around 4-5 inches you are going to start seeing a lot of beat up and dead fish. I would guess all of your other fish will get picked off first but once they are gone then they will be picking on each other. But you can do whatever you want do as it is your tank just feel sorry for the fish you are trying to keep wth them.

giant danios, or silver dollars are your best bet.. just like everyone has already pointed out

:spam:

Except me...I pointed out barbus filamentosa, but to be more realistic......;)

barbus filamentosa are a great fish, and the ones in that picture are gorgeous they usually dont have so much yellow on them.

However, Filament Barbs are rare in the trade and like company. Odie has an overstocked cichlid tank. Five or six 6" barbs wont help, they will die and those are great barbs that could have gone to someone that would take care of them and possibly breed them.

My suggestion to Odie is NOT to have dither fish. Understocked tanks = healthier and happy fish, which = prettier colors and more interesting behavior.

bump, use you 90 which if it is from the other thread it is wayyyyyy over priced on one of your fish from your overstocked 55. do not spend 950 on a 90 gallon.

UPDATE::: been workin lately aint been doin much but workin sleepin an smokin but put the cons into a 10 gallon and have an extra 10 gallon for the fry..... and im not gettin a butti or a xingu I,, i alredy got a bellycrawler pike and thats all ima keep in there is the trimac and bellycrawler hoping they will grow to tolerate eachother since bellycrawlers stay on the ground and trimacs stay mid and up so scratch all of what u said ammerman b0ut 2 give em a waterchange tomorrow mornin too = ]
